Willow Ridge Community Garden Plot Rental Agreement

Bed Rental - $25.00 + GST = $26.25


Bed Deposit - $50,00 refundable if conditions as outlined below are met:


Must be members of the WRCA Community Association.




As conditions for renting garden plot (s) # _______, agree that I will:




1. Strictly adhere to organic gardening principles and not use insecticides, pesticides or

herbicides on the site. I will refrain from organic or inorganic fertilizers that produce

salts and retrain from using soil amendments that do not decompose. I will not put any

weeds, meat or dairy products into the compost with the exception of blood meal, bone

meal and hair.




2. Properly maintain the plot and common areas assigned to me and restrict crops which

grow over 4 ft in height to a maximum length of 4 feet so as not to shade my

neighbouring beds. I will deal with insect and weed infestations quickly and organically

to prevent spread to other plots. I will respect other gardener's rights and not cause

actions detrimental to other renters. I will take responsibility for any non-gardeners

accompanying me to the site and ensure that children are supervised. I will keep all

pathways and areas surrounding my plot clear of obstructions. I will not bring my dog

to the garden.

3. A neglected plot, as identified by the garden committee, will be assumed abandoned if I

have not attended to it within seven days of notification. Abandoned plots can be

rented to others.




4. This tenancy agreement covers a maximum time period of May 20, 2010 ­ 1 frost 2010.

5. I will clear and cover my plot with mulch materials no later than one week after the first

frost of fall 2010. My deposit cheque of $50.00 will be returned to me only after this

has been done and my key returned to the office.




6. I agree to keep clean and return WRGC tools to their area when I am finished using

them and be responsible with my water usage.




7. I understand that neither the garden group nor owners of the land are responsible for

my actions. I therefore agree to hold harmless the garden group and owners of the land

for any liability, damage, loss or claim that occurs in connection with the use of the

garden by my guests or me.




8. I will not leave any garbage, weeds, or refuge of any kind around the garden. I will

dispose of all organic material into the composter provided as stipulated by the bin

instructions.




9. Renters of new beds will be required to fill their own beds with soil provided.




10. Failure to comply with the above conditions will void this contract.
